Work with Marie
Marie enjoys giving readings, workshops and courses to audiences of all ages, so please contact her!
Her writing career began with journalism and nonfiction writing, and she continues to cover health, business, travel, and regional issues for regional, national and international print and online markets. Marie is passionate about research, and she has provided research services for film and television programs broadcast on History Television and Biography channels, as well as special features, reviews, and commentaries for broadcast programs on CBC and CKCK Radio.
Her free-writing and journaling workshops have been popular across the prairies, and have led to the formation of a monthly writing group in Regina. She has given workshops in how to start a freelance writing business, as well as workshops on the writing craft. As well, she facilitated an Artscape project in a rural school in which Grades 5-8 students each researched, wrote, and illustrated their own picture book. And she has given readings for Grades Pre-k to Grade 12, to help introduce readers to her books.
Marie teaches English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) programs at Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the University of Regina, where she has also taught Journalism and Theatre. She has been editor of Windscript magazine twice, and fiction/nonfiction editor of Spring magazine.
But don’t take our word for it: read a few testimonials about her services. Or read an article from the Assiniboia Times about a library reading she did there. Or contact her and ask how she can help you today!
